Starting // Another round of Couch to 5K. I got the official go-ahead to exercise again at my post-partum checkup this week, and I’ve already been walking for the last month. My last run was on December 20, 2014 — the day before I found out I was pregnant with Charlotte — so it’s been 10 months of nada. For those who might be new here, I have been a runner for years. But in summer 2014 after realizing it had been too long since I ran a 5K without walking, I decided C25K would be beneficial. And it was! It made me love running again and was a great success. I’m looking forward to doing it again.
I don’t have a goal race (yet). Since I’m starting from essentially nothing, I may repeat a few weeks along the way so I’ll find a goal race once I get into it and see how I’m feeling.
Playing // With the Project Life app. I’ve admired other peoples’ scrapbooks (PL and otherwise) for so long but as I’ve mentioned here before, I have purposefully NOT jumped on board because I don’t need one more thing to feel guilty about not keeping up with. Nonetheless, I’d been meaning to check out the app to see if it might be a more low-key way to join in, and one day last week I finally opened it up on my phone. And? The app is sort of amazing. It eliminates 90% of the time-consuming work (printing photos, trimming them, doing physical embellishments, writing captions and notes by hand, etc). Within 5-10 minutes, I can have a fully digital pages ready to be sent to a printer.
On one hand, I’m guessing the app does take some of the tangible “fun” out of it, and the format can never be as flexible as designing pages the “old-fashioned” way. But on the other hand, it takes minimal time and that’s a big, big deal. I’ve already made several pages for recent events (Charlotte’s birth and Emma’s field trip seen above); this really might be something I can do regularly and keep up with. And I LOVE the idea of making pages as I go through the year and getting them all printed in a single “yearbook” of sorts at the end.
Realizing // That I may have a slight obsession with storage bins. I must have at least two dozen different types of bins around the house, but I just bought more for our new living room bookshelves. I suppose there are worse obsessions to have?
Hoping // To go to the zoo this weekend with the kids. Unfortunately the forecast is not looking very cooperative for that!

I’m hoping next weekend is better for a zoo trip. We got a pass for F’s birthday but have only used it once.
Oh well, we need the rain!
Digital scrapbooking is something I just haven’t grasped. Gotta have that paper in my hand! Do you print it via a book or at home? How does that work?

I’ve seen 2 options for the digital PL pages. You can get them printed out one by one and slip them into 12×12 page protectors, or you can wait until the end of the year and then get them all printed into a photobook. I think I’m going to go with the photobook option. I think the first option would be good if you wanted to still add minor embellishments to your pages.
