Summer is in full swing over here. Vacation and swim team occupied June, and another vacation is on the calendar for July. My creative output continues to be less than typical, and I only have one finished quilt to show for the year thus far. I’m starting to realize that this may be the “new normal” for a while as my kids get older and our life gets filled with various family activities.
But! Onward…
First, a wrap-up of my goals for spring:
- Tech Editing 101 live discussion with Yvonne! Done! And still available for on demand viewing if you missed it.
- Aurifil Artisan April project. Done!
- Finish HMQG 2022 Block-of-the-Month. Nope.
- Write my next pattern and make the cover quilt. Done!
- Make a quilt to highlight an upcoming fabric line. Done, although I combined this with the previous one. The original goals were separate…but I’m gonna count it.
- Make Quilts Unscripted Bee blocks each month. Done!
- Also done:
- Made 2 pillows.
- Made it up to 16 pages for my 100 day project.
- Taught 2 virtual workshops and gave 2 virtual lectures.
- A healthy amount of tech editing.
- A 3-week ghostwriting project.
And now we head into July, and the back-to-school season will be here before I know it! I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to complete some good projects later this month, through August, and into September as the annual QuiltCon submission deadline approaches. I also have another quilt top in the works that I haven’t shared yet, but there will be a pattern coming for that one as well.
With all that in mind, here’s what I’d like to get done by the end of September:
- Finish HMQG 2022 Block-of-the-Month. I seriously need to get this thing off my longarm.
- Finish my 100 day project. I made it up to 16 pages, but then took a hiatus due to vacation and general busyness but only 4 more to go.
- Write my next pattern and
makefinish the cover quilt. The blocks are made and the sashing is cut, I just need to complete the top. I’m thinking of having it longarmed by my fellow HMQG member. And then write the pattern of course. It’s another fat quarter friendly one! - Finish one QuiltCon entry. I have 3 in mind — I just need to pick which one to tackle this quarter.
- Make Quilts Unscripted Bee blocks each month.
Off I go!
