First, a wrap-up of my goals for fall — and honestly, fall was a bit of a mixed bag for me. I did quite a bit of quilting in October as I finished QuiltCon entries and participated in the International Quilt Festival. November and December were much quieter on the quilting front. I haven’t felt a lot of motivation or enthusiasm for quilting lately, and the holiday rush occupied a lot of my brainpower.
- Finish #100daysofsaroystars. Fail. This one is still patiently waiting for me.
- Finish at least 2 quilt tops. Fail. I am almost done with one (pictured below).
- Quilt Festival! Done and so much fun!
- Release 1 new pattern and 1 revamped pattern. Partial success. I released Spiraling Triangles.
- Make Quilts Unscripted bee blocks each month. Partial success. I am late with my December blocks (eep) but will make it this weekend.
- Prep supply packs for my QuiltCon class. Done!
- Also:
- Made 3 Spiraling Triangles mini quilts.
- Taught a workshop.
- Made a #TeamPickle block.
- Worked with Emma and Charlotte to make their QuiltCon quilts.
- Blogged 27/31 days in December.
- Wrote a tutorial that will be published soon.
- Made a throw-size quilt that I will share soon.
- Stitched 6 hanging sleeves and 7 quilt labels to the back of quilts.
Now 2022 is here with the promise of a new year, and I’m trying to ease back into making after a hectic December. Here’s what I’m planning for January-March, keeping my larger yearly goals in mind as I go.
- Finish my Embrace The Chaos mini. This is the one pictured above! It just needs a bit more quilting and then binding.
- Finish #100daysofsaroystars. I really do want to finish this quilt, and hopefully before I start another 100 day project, which means it needs to be my January project.
- Start the 100 Day Project. This year’s “official” project starts in February and I plan to participate. I haven’t started thinking about what my project will be yet.
- Teach at QuiltCon. Omicron is making this messy, but I’m still excited!
- Release 1 pattern. I’d like to release a new design, probably in mid-late March.
- Smaller but deadline-driven projects:
- Make Quilts Unscripted bee blocks each month.
- VFW project. I agreed to make something this month to showcase a new fabric line.
- Exquisite Corpse block. This project intrigued me because of the odd name! I saw several IG friends making blocks for this collaborative project, and it looked fun so I signed up to make one for the next quilt. It’s due by the end of February.
Off I go!

You had a lot of prep work to be ready to ship quilts off to QuiltCon! I hope you have a good Winter and I hope that omicron ramps down as quickly as it has ramped up.
