This year I made 7 baby-size and larger quilts, 9 mini quilts (including 1 with each of my kids), 1 tote bag, 1 quilt coat, and several more of my signature quilted fabric postcards. I made a few quilt tops that aren’t included in the previous totals because they’re not finished yet (eep). I released 4 patterns, and did plenty of tech editing and graphics work for others. I gave 21 guild lectures and taught my first guild workshop.
As I’ve done in previous years, I’m linking up with Cheryl’s Best of 2021 blog party. I look forward to her round-up every year as an opportunity to review all of the things I made and posts I wrote!

For the second year in a row, it was my Quilted Fabric Postcard Tutorial. I continue to enjoy making these tiny pieces of fun, and it makes me so happy to see how postcards have taken off around the modern quilting community. I’m looking forward to teaching my postcard class at QuiltCon 2022!

Modular Maze, which I released in January, was my best seller this year by a wide margin! It was featured in Curated Quilts magazine, which helped. The pattern sales also saw quite a boost when I made the colorful version pictured above, which in many ways was more visually appealing than the original. This was a good reminder that it can be beneficial to revisit my patterns in different colorways!
Most Popular Instagram Post:
I shared this photo in August when I released my Notes to Self pattern, and it racked up 2,996 likes. So close to 3,000! I really loved how this pattern turned out in the saturated colors from Andover’s Century Solids collection.
Best Skill Builder:
I tried hand piecing for the first time ever as part of the Harmony Quilt sew-along, and really enjoyed the process! I haven’t done any hand piecing since then, but I appreciated adding this skill to my personal toolkit and I’m sure I’ll use it again at some point.
Most Rewarding Quilty Experience:
I loved working with my girls on their mini quilts (Emma’s and Charlotte’s), and can’t wait to see them hanging at QuiltCon 2022.
Most Rewarding Quilty Experience – Runner Up:
I got to see some quilty friends in person at the International Quilt Festival in late October and it was THE BEST.
p.s. I’m doing a 31 day blogging challenge.

Revisiting patterns and remaking them in other colorways is something that I never seem to really work into my schedule! I always enjoy getting these recap posts; it reads to me like a very productive and successful year!

I have to say, I am one who goes back to your postcard tutorial now and then. I love making small things and it has been helpful – I made some minis earlier and based my process on that tutorial. Great post!! I am looking forward to pictures of the girls’ work hanging at QuiltCon!!

Beautiful finishes! I totally agree with revisiting and reimaging quilt patterns in different colorways. Thanks for linking up and Happy New Year!
