Here’s how I did in November…
17 by 2017 progress. Done!
Turn one of my 30 quilt designs into a full pattern. Partially done. I did all the quilt math and worked my way through the steps for my Intertwined quilt, taking some notes as I went along. So the toughest part — the math, double checking the math, and making cutting and piecing diagrams — is done. Now I just need to bring it all together into a usable pattern. I’m on the fence about what to do with it from there. Since I had planned to submit the quilt to QuiltCon but didn’t get it done in time, I thought about maybe submitting it to a magazine? But even assuming a magazine would want it (a big “if”), would they take it since I’ve already posted photos of it online? I don’t really know how that works. So I may just sell the pattern through my Craftsy shop instead.
Track calories in MyFitnessPal. Huge fail. I haven’t gained any weight in the last month…but I haven’t lost any either.
One “no computer” night per week. So-so. I accomplished this 2 of the 4 weeks last month. Wow, it sounds really pathetic to say I couldn’t even stay off my computer more than 2 weeknights in a month.
And here’s what I’m tackling in December…
17 by 2017 progress. I knew from the start that I probably wouldn’t finish all 17, but I think I’ve got a good shot at 12-13 of them. Onward…
Get ready for the half marathon. The race is 6 weeks away. I’ve started running again after taking an unplanned month off to let my foot sprain heal and it’s going well enough — I did 6.5 miles on Friday. I should be able to build to a 10-miler around the end of this month, which will be enough to get me through race day. I expect it to be one of my slowest half marathons, but I’m still excited to get back out there!
Happy holidays with minimal stress. There’s so much going on this time of year, and I want to do my best to keep things happy but low-key. Some things that are already helping? I’ve ordered Christmas cards already and paid a little extra for the time-saver of having the addresses printed on the envelopes. And my family made the group decision to draw names this year, which makes my gift-buying list shorter and simpler. Things that I plan to do to keep stress levels low? I’m trying to get all my shopping done by mid-month. And I’m pledging that there will be no additional (or last-minute) handmade gifts added to my list beyond the two I am already working on which are nearly finished.
