Back in January, I set several crafty goals for this year. Here’s a mid-year update…
Finish a baby quilt. Done! I finished my Triangles at Play quilt for my friend’s baby boy in March.
Make (another) quilt for Emma. Done! Her Ten Square quilt is a permanent fixture on her bed and lately has seen many rounds of the “let’s hide under the blankets” game. On Monday night it was also used as a ghost costume. Awww.
Make a quilt for Charlotte. I haven’t done this yet, but it is most certainly still on the agenda for this year.
Finish my kaleidoscope mini. I haven’t touched this once since last fall, when I furiously sewed about 2/3 of the top and then lost steam. It’s sitting in a basket under my sewing table waiting on me to pick it up again.
Make a Snow White dress for Emma. I haven’t started this, and I may actually shift from a Snow White dress to something different. Emma’s been loving “PJ Masks” on Disney Junior and has asked me a couple times if I can get her an Owlette costume. I’m trying to figure out if I could get something together for that by her birthday next month.
Make a Sailor top for me. I got started on this in June and have the pattern pieces all cut out and ready to go. I’m a little intimiated to take the next step and attempt to turn those pieces into something I can actually wear, but I’m thinking about tackling it this Friday as a flex day project.
Sew a Maker’s Tote for me. I’ve got the fabric for this but otherwise haven’t started it yet.
So I’m 2-for-7 so far, however, I’ve also made several things that weren’t originally on the list: 2 mug rugs, 2 baby quilts that I haven’t posted yet, and a crib skirt for Charlotte’s room.
As for the long-term projects, I’m 1-for-3 through the first half of the year:
Make Charlotte’s stocking. In work and on schedule at the moment!
Participate in the Mighty Lucky club. Nope, and I’m going to let this one go. This is the second year in a row that I’ve signed up for a monthly quilting challenge but haven’t followed through, so perhaps I’m learning my lesson. (In my defense, I did great with my monthly Once Upon a Time Sampler in 2014, so maybe the past few years just haven’t been good timing for monthly projects?)
Make progress on my Passacaglia quilt. Nope.
