Yawning // Because I have to support a 6 a.m. meeting today with NASA’s international partners. (And yes, I’m writing this post on Thursday night, but trust me — I know for a fact that I’ll be yawning.) The 6 a.m. days are never fun, but on the bright side, I’ll be able to start my weekend that much earlier.
Feeling // Excited about the weekend in general. For the first time in a month, we have no significant plans. Tonight Jose and I are taking advantage of the daycare’s monthly parents’ night out for a date night. Tomorrow I’m thinking a trip to the pool is in order. Maybe on Sunday I’ll join in the action going on above…by taking a nap. I could really use one. Zzzzz.
Loving // The idea of giving myself a creative retreat — a dedicated chunk of time for a single project. I recently got a “time off award” at work as a result of a big team effort late last year, and I may combine those extra 8 hours with a flex Friday and make it a two-day affair. No errands, no cleaning, no home improvement. Just picking a project or two that have been on my list for far too long and getting it done. I’m thinking sometime in July…
Reading // A Long Way Gone for this month’s book club. It’s the memoir of a child soldier in Sierra Leone and it’s good but man, it’s also heavy stuff. Between this book, this ridiculousness (along with basically everything else from that man), the awfulness that made this letter necessary, and various other stories, I’m feeling rather pessimistic about mankind these days. Sigh.
Drinking // Hard cider. It started with Jose buying hard root beer, but I don’t like root beer, so he got cider for me…and that’s that. Apparently this is now a thing for me because I’ve been enjoying it almost nightly.
Cleaning // Things up behind the scenes on this ol’ blog. Things should be straightened out after some traffic-induced issues last week, but let me know if you’re seeing anything funky!

I find the font too light for these old eyes 😊

I was a little concerned about the font myself. I’ll have to try a couple other options!

There have been so many words written about that rape, but really, the victim statement speaks for itself. I don’t think I’ve ever written something written by a rape victim or anyone similar that was half so compelling. I guess she’s not a Stanford grad for nothing.
I also think the font is a little tough.
