July goals coming later this week. In the meantime, here’s how I did in June.
Get Emma a new bed. Done! After finding at least a half dozen beds at Land of Nod that I liked, I finally decided that since this furniture will hopefully last Emma for the next decade at least, it was worth the splurge. I ordered the Hampshire Arched Bed (in the “stone” color) and matching dresser. They were delivered a week and a half ago, a few days before Jose and I went on vacation, and fortunately Emma took to them right away! (We had prepped her pretty well with talk of her big girl bed, and let her pick out those awful princess sheets from Target. We also added a bed rail along the side after this photo was taken.)
To make things fit well, the bed ended up where the dresser used to be, and the new dresser is now where her crib/toddler bed was. (As a reminder, this is what her room has looked like until now.) Now I need to switch the photo wall and wall decal so that all the frames aren’t above the bed and thus easily reachable. I’m not sure the wall decal will prove to be repositionable, but we’ll see.
Walk at least 3 times per week. I was a bit more successful than in May in that I actually did walk several times…but definitely not 3 times per week. Habits, man. Hard to form, easy to lose.
Do my yearly “30 Days of Creativity.” Done! I missed several days, especially last week while Jose and I were on vacation, but overall it was another fun year of 30 DOC. (Final wrapup coming tomorrow.)
Make stuff. I am sooo close to being done with the baby quilt I’ve been working on for a ridiculously long time now. I got as far as pinning the binding on before we left on vacation, so it just needs to be attached and it’ll (finally) be ready. I also figured out a plan for the Modern Quilt Guild’s Riley Blake challenge, which is due at the end of the month. I’ve got all the materials I need, so that’s the next item on my list.
p.s. My yearly goal to read a little (for fun) every day is still chugging along. In June I read on 28/30 days — my most successful month yet! I’m also nearly done with book #13 for the year — All The Light We Cannot See, which I expect to finish tonight. I’m totally on track to finish 30 this year!
