September total – 24.3 miles
I’m totally on track for my 50 mile goal this month, which is exciting! This week, my total was clearly aided by my run yesterday morning around the National Mall in DC. I’m staying just south of Dupont Circle, so I ran south past the White House to the Washington Monument, then all the way down to the Capitol, back to the Monument, and back to the hotel. The MapMyRun app didn’t track very accurately, but I estimate it was about 6.5 miles total. (Edit: I mapped it later and it was exactly 6.5. My phone had said 6.8.)
I ran ~75% of that and walked the other 25%, stopping occasionally for crosswalks and to snap pictures. It was my longest run in quite a while, and my legs are sore as a result, but it was worth it to be able to do such a scenic route! I’m planning to do it again this morning (although perhaps towards the Lincoln Memorial this time instead of the Capitol).
