I seriously can’t believe it’s November already. This part of the year always starts to fly by but I’m looking forward to a fun holiday season!
Continue work on my Master’s project. I’m aiming to get 2-3 of the eventual 12-15 pieces d-o-n-e DONE this month. I’ve been scheduling myself for 6-12 hours per week of project work (Mondays and Wednesdays after Emma goes to bed, plus a big chunk on Superflex Fridays) which should be sufficient to meet that goal — especially now that I’ve developed a few new techniques to get the effects I want.
Make this month’s Lucky Stars Block of the Month. I loved how October’s block turned out, and am looking forward to November’s! It’s another pretty complicated one with a lot of pieces, so as a “breather” I decided to do the January block — and that’s what you see in the photo above. (I didn’t join until late, so I’m playing catch up too.) This one only had 4 quarters and 24 total pieces of fabric, so it came together in about 1 hour yesterday. Very satisfying!
Create a draft strategy document for a work project. I’m not going to post specifics about this here, and I’ve never posted a work goal before…but this is really priority #1 this month. As in, if I don’t get it done during the day, I need to forego hobby time at night in favor of this. I’ve been procrastinating and my time has run out.
Read 1 book. I was successful with this one last month, albeit furlough-aided success. But we’ll go for another one this month!
Workworkwork on Emma’s Christmas stocking. I’m starting to see the finish line, even if it is still pretty distant. The photo above was taken a couple days ago and as you can see, the trees and snow field are probably ~80% done. All of the cross stitch is probably ~90% done. Then it’s on to backstitching like crazy… I’ve got just over 7 weeks until Christmas, so it’ll be down to the wire!
Make and order Christmas cards. I always wait until the last minute to do cards, which results in paying a “rush” shipping charge and frantically addressing a bunch of envelopes a week before Christmas. This year, I want have them on their way to me no later than the end of the month!
[…] mentioned the Lucky Stars Block-of-the-Month “club” I joined in a couple other posts, since working on these blocks has been a monthly goal recently. On Friday, I spent some […]
