Last night I was supposed to be getting the house in order so we can have people over this weekend. Instead, I sat on the couch like a bum watching the DVRed season premiere of America’s Next Top Model. This is arguably the trashiest of all the TV shows I watch, but I just can’t help it.
The rest of my TV-watching list goes something like this:
- Project Runway, which just started a new season at long last. This is one of the few reality shows Jose will watch with me, since he says the people on the show are actually being creative. (In contrast, he HATES ANTM.)
- The Office, which makes me feel so incredibly uncomfortable sometimes with how awkward the situations are on that show. I mean, come ON, in real life Jim and Pam would have found better jobs ages ago.
- 30 Rock, because Alec Baldwin is hilarious on that show.
- Design Star, which just finished another season. Antonio was ok, but it was pretty obvious that he won just because HGTV wants a “fresh face.”
- Burn Notice. This show rocks. We’ve got about 10 episodes backed up on our DVR though because we’re still trying to catch up on Season 2 on DVD.
- One Tree Hill, which I noticed started up again. I never saw the ending of last season, and I watch only occasionally these days, as it jumped the shark a long time ago. This is runner-up in the trashy/stupid TV category.
After that, if nothing else is on, I will inevitably flip to one of the following channels, pretty much in this order: HGTV, Discovery Channel, Food Network, and PBS. I am also quite excited for Ken Burns’s PBS series about the National Parks which starts on Sunday.
I totally did not intend for this blog entry to end up being about my TV watching habits, but that’s how it goes.

Don’t forget the shows I make you watch!
Let see, there’s:
Nova
Nova Science Now
The Universe
Flight of the Conchords (which is the most hilarious show ever)
any other documentary (this week’s was on the Pacific)
any of the Alien movie series, which always seems to be playing lately…

oh and I love ANTM

Jose’s comment amuses me. I enjoy So You Think You Can Dance, Gray’s Anatomy. If Jonathan had his way, we’d watch nature shows exclusively, though.

Yeah, Byron makes me watch all sorts of random stuff. Like Top Gear, Pawn Stars.. and occasioanlly Modern Marvels (which I make fun of inscentally. I mean, an hour about insulation or salt? seriously?).
He watches Project Runway with me, and totally gets into it, then complains about how stupid it is. I also really like Top Chef, though it makes me hungry.

I love ANTM and Project Runway, but haven’t had much time to keep up with either for the past couple of seasons. I also love So You Think You Can Dance…it brings back memories of my dance days, lol! I was sooo looking forward to the National Parks thing on PBS last night, but for some reason our Direct TV was having issues with PBS last night. Grrrr!
