When I started this draft post a few weeks ago, I joked that maybe I should call this “NOT In My Sewing Room” — because my sewing room was pretttttty quiet over the summer.
Summer “sewing” was actually summer cross stitching and crocheting — i.e. things that could easily be done while hanging out on the couch with the family watching baseball or Formula 1 or the most recent seasons of Amazing Race and Survivor and Lego Masters. (When I’m in this kind of phase I always consider starting an English paper piecing project, but the prep for EPP always feels like a lot.)

I’m staying up-to-date on my year-long blackwork stitch along, and I started a version of my own Pathfinder cross stitch pattern. While we were on vacation last month, I also made another Wooble. The unicorn with rainbow hair was a specific request from Charlotte, and I made it in a single day. It’s very cool to see that my crochet skills are at the point where making something like this feels pretty easy.
On the quilting front, I spent the summer writing the Quarter Moon pattern and tech editing. I continue to add new clients and have had a pretty consistently full editing queue most of this year and booking 2-3 weeks in advance. But my sewing table has shown signs of life in the last couple weeks! It started with Charlotte’s purse, and continued with catch-up on Quilts Unscripted bee blocks.

Next up on my list is a QuiltCon entry. I have a few ideas and won’t have time to make them all — so I have to choose which one I like the best! I hope to have 2 of them completed by the October 31 deadline, but will be happy with one. Wish me luck…

Good luck working on your QuiltCon submissions! I have 1 finished that I will submit, 1 finished I *might* submit, and 1 in work that I really hope I can get done in time to submit.
