Y’all, 2025 has just been a doozy thus far, hasn’t it? Life is swinging between happy, fun times and chaotic, tumultuous times — and frankly, sometimes it’s all happening at once. I have been mostly focused on taking things a day or a week at a time, and fortunately I’ve been able to find periodic calming moments to spend time on fun quilty things.
First, a wrap-up of my goals for spring:
- Catch up — and stay current — with Quilts Unscripted Bee blocks. Partially done! I caught up (here’s November, January, February, March, and April) but then Maycember hit and I fell behind again.
- Wrap up this year’s Pantone Quilt Challenge. Done!
- Update/re-release Quarter Moon pattern. Done!
- The “maybe” list:
- Also done:
- Made a last-minute Pantone challenge quilt top.
- Made a t-shirt quilt for our dear neighbors who moved away.
- Made two blocks for group quilts. (Here’s one, the other is a secret for now.)
- Worked on this piece as part of a 2025 blackwork embroidery stitch along.
Looking ahead, I’m going to stick with having a list of goals plus a list of “maybe” projects — the stuff I’d like to do if/when time (and mood and energy level) allows.
So, for July-September…
- Catch up — and stay current — with Quilts Unscripted Bee blocks. May through September — just five blocks! Let’s do this, self.
- Finish the star quilt I started in 2021. This is on my 2025 UFO list, and I’d like to enter it in QuiltCon.
- Write Diamond Flip pattern. This was in my plan for earlier this year, but Quarter Moon ended up jumping ahead in the queue.
- The “maybe” list:
- Design and create a stitchable pantograph. Again.
- Make a quilt for this year’s QuiltCon fabric challenge. Always my favorite category!
C’mon summer, let’s chill…

I keep saying “life is life-ing” as a way of explaining how I keep getting pulled in different directions. I do hope you have time for the QuiltCon fabric challenge; I’m always amazed by what you are inspired to make!
