Heyyyy it’s been a minute (or a year) since my last post like this. Fortunately, that doesn’t mean I haven’t been working on things here and there. And while I do a fairly good job of sharing everything on Instagram, it’s always this blog that I turn to when I’m trying to remember an older project. These posts have so much more longevity — at least for me — than a social media post. So here’s what’s going on!

Back in January, I started another blackwork embroidery piece designed by The Steady Thread. This is the 2025 Stitch-Along, which is amazingly offered for free during the year! There is a new motif each week plus several different layout/border options. (I couldn’t resist the cute stork scissors.) I had fallen a few weeks behind, but was able to catch up recently when we went to Corpus Christi for the weekend.

I’ve also officially caught up with my Quilts Unscripted bee blocks, which I’m thrilled to be able to say after having fallen several months behind! The block above is for Charles, who sent us a bunch of “tchotchkes” in the mail to use as inspiration for our blocks. I was feeling pretty intimidated by this prompt, but once I got started, it proved to be pretty fun.
I’m also working on another t-shirt/memory quilt — and I’ve had to severely blur the photo above (and I’m not posting it on Instagram) in case the person it’s intended for happens to come across this post!! I’m arranging the shirts in columns based on how wide they need to be cut, and sort of figuring out the rest of the dimensions as I go. It looks like it’s going to finish around 50″ x 60″ which is a perfect size, and I’m pretty happy with how it’s coming along. I’ll share more once it’s been finished and gifted!
I’m also working on the Quarter Moon pattern, and have a few other projects in the “percolation” stage. Plus it’s June, which means I need to start considering potential QuiltCon entries! I’d like a few months to work on those ahead of the October 31 deadline.

Thanks for sharing the blackwork info. I also love the scissors
