Welcome to my 9th year of quarterly crafty/quilty goal-setting! Yes, NINTH year. I went back and counted them up as I was about to publish this post, and apparently I started the quarterly thing in 2017. (Plus I was setting crafty goals before that, just not in quite the same way.) Having this blog as an archive of some of my activities is really fun, and it’s got me thinking about how I can make blogging a more regular part of my routine again.
In any case, welcome to 2025!
First, a wrap-up of my goals for fall:
- Finish QuiltCon fabric challenge quilt and enter by 10/31. Done!
- A second Spoonflower collaboration. Done!
- Make Quilts Unscripted bee blocks each month. 1/3 done. I finished and sent August, but still owe October and November. Eek.
- Design and create a stitchable pantograph. Still not done.
- Also done:
- Finished a blackwork embroidery piece.
- Made a rather spontaneous mini quilt.
- Longarmed two quilts. (Haven’t shared them yet, doh.)
- Longarmed a king-sized quilt for a friend.
- Made a bag for my niece.
- Made a memory quilt for my cousin. (Pics of that coming soon.)
- Crocheted a few things via my Woobles advent calendar.
Lots of good stuff on that list, especially in the “extra” bucket — no complaints at all about the things I was able to make!
Here’s what I’m planning for January-March:
- Catch up — and stay current — with Quilts Unscripted Bee blocks. I’m not proud to have let myself get behind like this! I need to make October and November blocks, and then be on time with January, February, and March.
- Write Diamond Flip pattern. This is a working title, but the pattern features stripes and half-rectangle triangles. I’d like to release it at the beginning of March.
- Finish 1 UFO. I’m participating in a UFO challenge run by my guildmate Jandi, and picked 6 projects for the challenge. I’d like to finish at least one this winter.
- Prep and launch this year’s Pantone Quilt Challenge. The “mocha mousse” color is challenging indeed!!
- Design and create a stitchable pantograph. I started the class on how to do this last summer, and at this point I just need to restart, and commit to seeing it all the way through.
2025, let’s go!

I’m working on a UFO today, and honestly, it feels really good moving it forward even if I won’t get it all the way completed before I need to shift to something else. I look forward to seeing what you make, and I hope 2025 is a good year for you and your family.

I’m here for more blogging! I’m trying to be more regular about it as well. I feel like social media is about to implode somehow…time to get back to basics. Can’t wait to see what you design this year.
