What do we do when it’s a million degrees outside? We stay inside and sew! (Or at least I try.)
First, a wrap-up of my goals for spring:
- Quilt 2 quilts with my new Intelliquilter. I quilted not two but FOUR!! (Sunshine, Modern HSTs, Pathfinder, and Spinoff.)
- Finish & release Alpha pattern. Done!
- Wrap up the 2024 Pantone challenge. Done!
- Make Quilts Unscripted bee blocks each month. Done!
- Make my cozy quilt. Done!
- Also done:
- Made a mind-bending Pantone mini quilt.
- Made cute bunting.
- Completed 100 days of crochet.
- Finished my Double Decker Checker quilt. (More on this one soon.)
This might be the first time in quite a while that I well and truly finished everything on my list. Pat on the back, self. Writing the Alpha pattern was a big effort — more than my usual patterns — but I was thrilled to see how well it was received by the quilty community. And clearly I’m having a lot of fun playing with computerized quilting and learning the ropes in that regard.
Here are my goals for July-September:
- Participate in Quilt2024. I’ve recorded a 50-minute workshop on fabric postcards, and this will be the first time it’s available in this type of format! I encourage you to sign up for Quilt2024 — there are both free and paid options, and I’d appreciate it if you use my affiliate link when you do. 🙂
- Design and start two QuiltCon entries. I’d like to enter at least two quilts for QuiltCon 2025, and at the moment I have zero! Time to get to work.
- Finish at least 2 more UFOs. I’m having a lot of fun finishing old quilt tops with edge-to-edge pantos, and I have at least one top that I think would make a good practice piece for some custom quilting and ruler work.
- Design and create a stitchable pantograph. I started an online course on how to design my own pantographs, but I joined Longarm League at the same time — so I put the panto course on pause for a few weeks while I worked through LL content. I’m ready to jump back in.
- Make Quilts Unscripted bee blocks each month.
And awayyy I go!
