Hello and welcome to my stop on the virtual book tour for Quilting with Curves! This beautiful new book was written by my friend Daisy Aschehoug and is available now from C&T Publishing.
I first came across Daisy’s work years ago when I was early in my own quilting journey. It’s been fun to follow along as her work has evolved and grown, and to get to know her in person when we cross paths at QuiltCon each year.

Daisy is a true master of sewing with curves, and the 20 patterns in this book highlight so many clever and inventive ways to use this versatile shape. In addition to full pattern instructions, the book also includes a lot of great tips and tricks for cutting with curved templates, basting shapes, and trimming blocks — all of these tips are so helpful for piecing curves together smoothly and accurately!
Daisy’s Sirkel quilt was juried into QuiltCon a few years ago, and I remember admiring it in person as part of the show. I love how this design feels both simple and complex as the same time, and the subtle scrappy nature of the stripes is a fun detail that you may not notice at first glance.

The Gingko Fans quilt really stood out to me as well for the layered curves that are expertly incorporated into the design, and the cozy scrappy vibe of the different navy and pink fabrics.

In early 2021, my guild hosted Daisy for a virtual workshop making her Spinoff quilt. I was excited to see that one of the patterns included in the book is Wired, an updated version of this same design! You can see that while we used very different color palettes, both quilts have the same fun, curvy, swirly result.

I hope you check out the book and enjoy sewing with curves!
