Spring was a mixed bag for me, at least as far as my quilting goes. My creative energy has been low, and non-quilting life was busy, and thus some things got done but other things did not.
Most notable is the fact that I stopped my 100 day project at day 75! This is the first time I’ve “failed” to finish the project, but I’m not too upset about it. I do have a few ideas to wrap up the last 25 days later this summer…or I may just let it go entirely. Stay tuned, I guess?
First, a wrap-up of my goals for spring.
- Finish my 2022 100 day project. I stopped at day 75.
- Finish #100daysofsaroystars. Not done.
- Finish my Cupola Views quilt. Not done.
- Finish at least 1 item on my 2022 UFO Challenge list. Done!
- Release 1 new pattern. Done! I released the Game Night pattern in May.
- Write and submit my third article for MQG Fundamentals. Done, and will be released this month as part of the MQG Journal.
- Make Quilts Unscripted Bee Blocks each month. Done!
- Make the HMQG BOM block each month. Done!
- Also:
- Spring cleaned my studio.
- Made a baby quilt for Emma’s teacher.
- Made a baby size Game Night quilt top.
- Started a cross stitch project.
- Published an applique circle tutorial.
- Started a quilt for the 2023 QuiltCon fabric challenge.
- Made a block for the Quilt Scouts Earth Day badge.
Here’s what I’m planning for July-September, keeping my larger yearly goals in mind as I go.
- Finish my QuiltCon 2023 fabric challenge quilt. I made a decent start, but still have a long way to go with this one.
- Finish #100daysofsaroystars. For real. I hope.
- Finish at least 1 item on my 2022 UFO Challenge list.
- Make progress on the cross stitch project I started last month.
- Write and submit my fourth article for MQG Fundamentals.
- Release 1 new pattern. I’ve got Ribbons — previously available only to MQG members — nearly ready for a low-key release.
- Make Quilts Unscripted Bee Blocks each month.
- Make the HMQG BOM block each month.
Off I go!
