This year’s “official” 100 day project started on February 13. Since then, I’ve been making one piece of tiny art (almost) every day! I posted #43 yesterday so I’m almost halfway…although I’m currently running about a week behind the daily count at the moment due to my trips to QuiltCon and Disney World. I knew all along that it would be challenging to complete my daily piece of art on those trips, so I didn’t even try. Either I’ll catch up over the next 50 days, or I’ll just finish my 100 day project a little later than the community. Both options are totally acceptable.
I have been listing batches of 10 in my shop. Each piece is $10 (including shipping) and most are mounted on 8×10 mat board or bristol board for each display in a frame or on a shelf.

As usual, I didn’t finalize my plan for this year’s project until kickoff day, but I’d been considering the idea for several weeks. One of my creative goals for 2022 was “try new things” and 100 days of tiny art gives me a good opportunity to do that! I started off in my relative comfort zone by making several small fabric compositions.

From there, I moved into washi tape — which was surprisingly fun! I resisted the urge to buy new washi tape and worked solely from the various rolls I’ve collected over the years.

Next I tried weaving with mixed success, and then got excited to try some mini wrapped canvases. I really enjoyed these, although the initial batch of canvases I ordered were pretty thin and made the wrapping part difficult. I’m waiting on a new order of small canvases, so there will definitely be more of these to come.

For the last few days, I shifted gears again and have been playing with collage and blackout poetry using magazines and assorted print materials that I found lying around the house or in our recycling bin. I’m no poet, but these are really fun!
There are about 15 pieces currently for sale in my shop. I hope you check them out and maybe give one a home!
With the remaining 50+ days, I still have several things I’d like to try, including another try at weaving, mixed media and/or watercolor, wool applique, cyanotype on fabric, and ice dyeing. The project wraps up on or around May 23!
I’ve been loving your tiny art pieces! I applaud your ability to do them every day! I’ve got my eye on a couple but I also want to see what else you will be making in the next few weeks!
