Today’s “official” 31 Days of Blogging prompt is “show us your fabric” — so I thought it’d be fun to share the advent calendar I’m enjoying this month!
Back in September, I preordered one of Crimson Tate’s annual Countdown to Fun boxes. I’ve seen these in past years and 2021 seemed like as good a year as any to treat myself to one. There are a few different options, including a choice of 24 or 31 days, and a choice of regular or deluxe for the 24-day version.
I went all in and bought the 24-day deluxe box, which includes 2 fat quarters each day (1 print and 1 solid) plus a handful of small notions and stickers. My box arrived in November and I was excited to open it on December 1!

Here are my 14 days of fat quarters so far! I love getting to open my little bag each day. I’ve also received a few cute stickers, a couple wonder clips, and some bobbin and spool holders that will come in handy. Most of the print FQs I’ve received in this box are tone-on-tone or simple prints, which are often my favorite kind, and of course you can’t go wrong with bright, saturated solids.
I currently sell 3 fat quarter friendly patterns in my shop (Pathfinder, Triangles at Play, and Shake & Bake), and one of my goals for 2022 is to add 2-3 more FQ or precut-friendly patterns. So I think quite a few of the FQs I’ve received in my box will turn up in my quilts next year!

There’s also this, which I haven’t opened this yet! Honestly I probably should have used it last week when my kids were home sick from school because OOF, that was a stressful few days. Nonetheless, it’ll be fun to see what’s inside!
p.s. I’m doing a 31 day blogging challenge.
What a fun treat to look forward to each day! I look forward to seeing the designs you come up with to use these FQs in.
