Say hello to the Spiraling Triangles mini quilt pattern! It’s listed in my shop and ready for some fun.
Spiraling Triangles is an intermediate-level foundation paper piecing pattern with two layout options. The spiral layout (shown above) lets you highlight the swirling shapes creating by the series of rotating triangles. This mini quilt measures 15″ x 18″ and makes a great small wall hanging.
The triangle layout (shown above and below) highlights the triangles themselves, set against a contrasting background. This mini quilt measures 18″ x 18″ square and while the one below is a wall hanging, it would also make a fantastic throw pillow.
Choosing fabrics is a big part of making this pattern shine. If you like the color gradient effect, you’ll find recommendations in the pattern for 8 different color progressions of Kona Cotton. If you prefer a different commercially available solid, many have similar color ranges. And if you’re a fabric dyer — well, you know what to do!
I’ve made 4 different versions of this mini quilt now and have thoroughly enjoyed each one. This past Saturday, I also had the pleasure of teaching a workshop for this pattern to the Tall Pines Quilt Guild in Huntsville, TX. I think you’ll agree that they did a great job!

This is just gorgeous. I love the colors in your new purple / yellow / teal version. This has to be one of my all-time favorites of your quilts! I hope you have it on your wall somewhere.
