Today I’m excited to share a new version of my Pathfinder quilt featuring the upcoming Favorite Things fabric collection by Sassafras Lane for Windham Fabrics! I’ve admired the Sassafras Lane duo (Shayla and Kristy) for their brightly colored fabrics and quilt patterns for a couple years now, so when Shayla asked me if I’d like to participate in her Instagram tour, it took me about 5 seconds to say yes!

Favorite Things features an awesome mix of bright, saturated colors and low volume prints, each with a great tone-on-tone pattern accented by cute little details. My two favorites are definitely the airplanes and coffee cups!
There are 20 different fabrics in the line, so one fat quarter bundle was totally perfect for my Pathfinder pattern! I organized the fabrics into high-contrast pairs and got to work.
Watching these blocks come together was so much fun, and the result is such a fun and happy quilt that is currently on my longarm frame. I had some delays over the last couple weeks (life is hectic sometimes, amiright??) that prevented me from making the progress I’d hoped, but I was finally able to start quilting yesterday! I am trying ruler work for the first time ever — EEK — and it is…challenging to say the least. But I’ll make sure to post a finished photo when I have it.
