A summary of the last week: quilt pattern writing, a sick 4-year-old, a ridiculous number of Amazon orders, holiday luncheons, Christmas quilt sewing, and holiday lights.

When I picked Charlotte up from daycare last Thursday, she was asleep on the floor of her classroom. This has never, ever happened — her teachers explained that she had a low grade fever, but it hadn’t been high enough to call us. But then, as I was getting her into the car, she threw up. And then threw up again right as we got home. (But before I got her out of the car. So much fun to clean up.)
I was worried it was the flu, since I knew she had been exposed to it a week earlier at a daycare Parent’s Night Out, so I took her to the pediatrician on Friday. It was strep throat! Which wasn’t even on my radar since she hadn’t complained much about her throat. Thankfully, we got some antibiotics and by Saturday she was back to her usual self.

I bought the Lego Gingerbread House this year! And despite being listed for ages 12+ and having almost 1,500 pieces, Emma put together a good portion of it herself. She did the first two bags on her own a week or so ago, but then lost steam. I did bags 3 and 4 on Friday when I was home with sick Charlotte. And we finished off the 5th and final bag together on Saturday morning.

We spent Saturday night at Zoo Lights and it wasn’t 100% insane! Ha. Don’t get me wrong, it was pretty crowded and got worse as time went on, but we were able to have a good time. We arrived early and went in right at 5:30, and were going against most of the crowds when we left at 8:00. It was enjoyable and a fun way to do something festive.
p.s. I’m doing a 31 day blogging challenge.

Ooh, good things to think about—I like that Lego gingerbread house. I may have to find out for next year, put it together and keep it together when I put Christmas up!
And zoo lights—that’s on my agenda to do. Might have to go before the weekend though.
