There’s no time like December to dive into making a Christmas quilt, eh?
Fresh off making my first holiday-themed quilt for Halloween, I came across some great Liberty London Christmas-themed fabrics in the Clothyard booth at Quilt Festival. I’m not a big Liberty fabric connoisseur but was familiar with their Tana Lawns (which can be pretty pricey). What I didn’t know is that they make regular quilting cotton too! And while it’s still priced above average for quilting cotton, at least it’s not $25-$30/yard.
(p.s. Clothyard is owned by my guild-mate Michelle and is relatively new — it’s a new venture that joins her yarn shop. If you’re local, Clothyard has a really great selection of modern fabrics!)
I loved the patterns and color palette, so I scooped up six 1-yard cuts. I wasn’t sure what I was going to make but after looking at this lovely stack for a week or so, I realized I have a quilt pattern of my own that would be perfect.
Stay tuned! 🙂
