Halloween has come and gone and it was a chilly one! So chilly, in fact, that I heard on the news it was the coldest Halloween we’d had in Houston since 1925. Whoa. Thankfully the 40s and wind from the cold front were tempered by sun…and plenty of layers!
I joined Charlotte on Thursday morning to trick-or-treat at JSC with the rest of the daycare kids. It’s always a fun outing and I think everyone looks forward to it. Charlotte’s costume worked surprisingly well with her heavy coat, with her Butterbean wings sticking out the back.
After school, we met up friend friends for trick-or-treating around the neighborhood. It was thankfully a bit warmer than the morning, so everyone’s costume still worked, albeit with a few unanticipated layers underneath! Emma was Felicie, the ballerina from the animated movie Leap!, so she was the lightest dressed but seemed to be fine with a shirt underneath the sleeveless dress.
(Seriously, most years we are sweating on Halloween.)
After about an hour, everyone’s buckets were full and they started to get a little tired and cold so we headed back home for candy sorting and a few treats before bed.
A happy Halloween indeed!
