I’m writing this from the car as we head back to Houston from our 4th trip to Corpus Christi in the last 4 months. First there was a birthday party in September that my mother-in-law had for the girls, then my nephew’s 1st birthday in October, then Thanksgiving in November and finally a cousin’s quinceanera (15th birthday) in December.
Each trip was great and I’m glad we were able to do them all, but I’m also looking forward to not making another Corpus trip for a while. Although things have gotten significantly easier now that both kids are older, these quick weekend trips are pretty exhausting. We leave on Friday around 5, which means we arrive around 10 and immediately have to get the girls back to bed (because hopefully they were asleep in the car). Then we have a full day Saturday of whatever party we came for plus spending time with various family. Then we get up Sunday and by early afternoon we’re back on the road so that we can get home by 6 or 7, so that we can get up and go back to work/school first thing Monday morning.
Whew.
But of course there are good reasons for each trip! Emma was a “junior dama” in Emily’s quinceanera, which meant she had a fancy dress and got to stand with the court. She did such a great job! I was so proud of her, and she looked so grown up.

Charlotte also seemed more grown up to me this weekend, and there were a couple times that for a split second, I thought she was Emma! (I realized that part of the reason for that may have been that she was wearing the same dress that Emma wore at another cousin’s wedding almost 3 years ago.)

All in all, a good weekend!
p.s. I’m doing a 31 day blog writing challenge!
Beautiful photos of beautiful family! Enjoy every minute!
Thank you Jocelyn! I try!
