We flew to Charlotte yesterday to spend the next week and a half at my parents house. It was a relatively short flight (2 hours) and the girls did great. I’ve mentioned this before, but after our 4 trips to Corpus Christi this fall plus the flight here, I’ve realized that travel with the kids is no longer something to be dreaded, which feels like a pretty big milestone.
Last year when we were here, the weather was unusually cold — highs in the 20s and generally unpleasant for being outside. This year the forecast is warmer, but also looking pretty rainy. We will figure out ways to make the best of it though! There are lots of fun museums and when it does clear up there’s the park next to my parents house. I’m looking forward to some plain ol’ relaxation as well,

Here’s a rundown of Christmas gifts in our family this year!
For Jose: a subscription to Masterclass, Astros PJ pants, fancy watercolor pencils, and a weighty book about the design of the ISS.
For Emma: a new bike, a couple LEGO Friends sets, an Astros Buddies membership for 2019, various art supplies and kits, slippers, and several chapter books for us to read together.
For Charlotte: a scooter, a Lego Junior kit, a Fancy Nancy nightgown and outfit, an Astros Buddies membership, slippers, art kits and new colored pencils, and several picture books.
And for me: a quilt ladder and blanket rack, a quilted necklace, a travel poster-themed puzzle, and the Alphabet Soup book and 2 rulers by Jaybird Quilts.
