First, a wrap-up of the crafty goals I had for summer:
- Finish the 100-day project. Done!
- Start #100days100blocks2018 (aka Tula Pink’s City Sampler). Started!
- Keep up with the Rainbow Triangles BOM. Done!
- Secret sewing project(s). Done! My very-much-in-progress Pollinate quilt is one and this now-finished small quilt is the other. (Blog post still to be written on that second one.)
- Also done:
- Designed and organized our GCMQG charity quilt and made a few blocks for it.
- Made a bag for a Quilt Market display. (Post to come, but sneak peek here.)
- Tech editing and graphic design work for clients.
Here’s what I’m planning for October-December:
- Finish #100days100blocks2018 (aka Tula Pink’s City Sampler) blocks. Wanna know a secret? I’m actually already done with this — I finished my blocks last night, a week early! Eek! I started batch sewing the last few and just couldn’t stop.
- Finish my Rainbow Triangles BOM quilt top. We’re getting really close to the end and I’m excited to see this one come together.
- QuiltCon fabric challenge entry. I was really struggling with the fabrics for this year’s challenge — I mean, that peach solid? Definitely not my favorite! But last week I finally found a bit of inspiration and came up with a design I’m excited about. I’m expecting my fabric to arrive this week so I can get started on that, with plenty of time before the November 30 deadline.
- Teach my first quilting class(es). The president of my guild opened a sewing shop recently, and asked me to teach a few classes! I’m excited to give teaching a try — and also a little intimidated, but we’ll see how it goes. My first one is a short, simple class making wonky Christmas tree blocks coming up on October 19.
- Secret sewing project. I have another quilt to be made with a deadline of late December, so I’ve got to remember to account that in my planning.
All that, along with some design and pattern writing work, should keep me quite busy through the end of the year!

I’m excited to see all your #100Days100Blocks2018 together!
