October 2020 Update: This pattern has been revamped and expanded to include 4 different sizes. Find it in my shop.

Today I’m excited to finally share a quilt I designed for Craftsy back in December! It’s called Pathfinder and features a desert-inspired color palette called Mojave from their Boundless Solids collection.
I definitely tend towards bright, saturated colors and while these fit that description, it isn’t a color palette I would have chosen on my own. There’s beige, mustard yellow, brick red, a muted gray-green, and a really dark gray — none of these would have caught my eye in a shop or online. But I was really pleasantly surprised with how nicely these 20 colors play together in this quilt! They absolutely have a desert/southwestern vibe, and I designed this arrow/triangle pattern specifically to complement that feeling.
I made the sample pictured above, and Angela Walters (!) made the quilt pictured below when this pattern was featured on the Midnight Quilt Show! The colors and pattern are the same, of course, but the quilting is entirely different. Mine has a simple straight-line design that I chose to accent the arrow points, but Angela’s has her signature beautiful free motion work.

Enjoy!
