Comforting // A sick Charlotte. She’s had some sort of stomach thing going on for several days that’s led to a lot of gross diapers and a generally subdued and/or outright cranky disposition…and then yesterday, Jose took her to the doctor where she was diagnosed with double ear infections on top of the stomach bug. My poor baby! We’ve been doing a lot of snuggling, and I’m hoping she feels better today.
Meeting // More and more of our new neighbors. Tuesday was National Night Out, and the “block captain” organized a gathering at the edge of the park for our little section of the neighborhood. It was really nice! We already know WAY more about the people who live around us than we ever did at our old house, and I love it.
Decorating // For Halloween. Last year I never got around to putting anything up since Charlotte was so tiny and life was full of all the stuff that comes with having a new baby. I’m not going to let things slide this year — especially with the new house!
Finishing // My paper pieced reindeer mini for the Quiet Play swap. I decided to add an improv-pieced green border to make it a little bigger (about 15″ square) and quilted it with wavy lines. I’ll sew on binding this weekend and make a label and voila — it’ll be ready to send!
Planning // My next project…and struggling with the temptation of too many different possibilities right now. I have several quilts on the to-do list, including three baby quilts and two more long-term “secret sewing” projects. I also need to put in more quality time with Charlotte’s stocking. I also want to make a Timeless Tunic for myself (spurred by my success with the Sailor Top) and finish up a tank top I had started right before I packed up my sewing room to move. In short: too many projects, too little time. Nothing new there.
