Enjoying // Cooler weather. It’s so much easier to walk over to the park after school/work, or be outside on the weekend, or even just walk between two buildings at work. There are so many people who live elsewhere who look forward to summer because it means they get to be outside, but I always look forward to fall for the same reason!
Preparing // Halloween costumes. Emma is going to be Owlette (from PJ Masks) and Charlotte’s going to be a strawberry. Emma’s wings and mask are already done — I made them back in August as a birthday present and got lucky that she wants to use them for Halloween. I need to make the eye holes on the mask a little bigger, but I bought everything else she needs. I just need to add the Owlette emblem to the front of her shirt and she’ll be set. Charlotte’s costume came from Target and I feel a little guilty about not sewing something for her. Sorry, second child.
Working // On my 17 by 2017 list. I got a drying rack for the laundry room. I finally made a decision on what color shades to get for the breakfast room, so I’m planning to finally place that order today. I’m also hoping to do a little yard work this weekend while Jose’s mom is still in town and can help occupy the girls while I’m outside.
Making // My way down a suddenly longer-than-expected personal to-do list. I’m doing a couple guest posts for a sewing blog that I need to finish up in the next week, and I’ve got a couple new quilt pattern ideas in the early stages. Those deadlines aren’t for a while yet, but I don’t want to procrastinate too much! Charlotte’s Christmas stocking is starting to hang over my head — as in, I need to either dedicate at least 1-2 evenings each week to working on it…or just accept that it won’t be done for this year. No matter what, it’s become clear that I can’t take on any other personal project until I get some of these off my plate!
Eating // Owl cookies. Yum!
