Here’s how I did in June…
30 Days of Creativity. Done!
Take the kids to the pool. Done! We’ve been to our neighborhood pool a few times, I started a parent-child swimming class with Charlotte, plus we now have friends with a pool who invite us over…which is pretty much completely as awesome as it sounds.
Figure out summer travel plans. In work!
Get a new paper planner. Done! I decided on a planner from Plum Paper and it arrived yesterday. It’s not significantly smaller or lighter than the Get to Work Book I used last year but I really liked the ability to slightly customize the content of my book by adding certain types of pages to the different sections.
And here’s what I’m tackling in July…
Since we’ve started looking at houses, and there’s a very real chance we’ll be moving within the next few months. With that in mind:
Minimize extraneous purchases. I don’t need new clothes (and neither do Jose or the girls, for the most part). I can sew from my stash for a while. I can continue bringing my lunch and coffee from home. These are all fairly small things but you get the idea — the goal is really just to think twice about buying anything I don’t really need right now.
Start purging our stuff. Less stuff now equals less stuff that has to be moved in the future. I’ve been on a donation kick for the past several months and have already gotten rid of a lot of clothes and unused kitchen stuff, but there’s more to be done. In particular, the garage and the bonus room/office have an abundance of things that could be donated or thrown out. I also have a pregnant coworker that I’m already trying to smother with baby stuff we don’t need anymore. (Ha.)
And a couple more:
Plan Emma’s birthday party. She’s going to be 4! OMG!
Rock a solo parenting weekend. Jose’s going to visit a friend this month so it’ll be just us girls for a few days. I’m feeling pretty good about the prospect, which is nice to be able to say. (And it’ll certainly be easier than the last time for the sole reason that Charlotte isn’t an infant anymore!)
