Reflecting // On a training class I took this week at work. It was called “From Tactical to Strategic Thinking” and although it was a little longer than I think it really needed to be, it was also one of the better training classes I’ve taken over the years. The subject matter is extremely applicable to me right now as a new group lead at work… But I also found myself realizing how a lot of it can be used in my personal life too.
Feeling // Really defeated about my fitness level and eating habits at the moment. I’m just not being as disciplined as I need to be about eating healthy and getting exercise. This is a constant struggle for me, and when life gets hectic with other things it’s the first thing to go.
Needing // New sunglasses. I looked at Target last week and believe it or not, they didn’t have any that I liked! Emma liked this pair that she had me try on, but helpfully pointed out that they were “broken” because they had a sticker on them.
Scraping // The bottom of the pantry this week at dinnertime. Instead of our usual Sunday morning grocery shopping, we went to the Kite Festival. It’s so stressful trying to go after work on a weekday that neither of us ever got to it.
Out of curiosity, have you considered Hello Fresh or Blue Apron, especially for a week like this? It would solve the grocery shopping AND the eating healthy thing at dinner time. I’d definitely consider it if I didn’t basically have a SAH husband that did all the grocery shopping
I have looked at those but haven’t actually pulled the trigger on trying it yet! I’ll have to do that. I wonder — is the turnaround time quick enough that I could realize “oh we didn’t go to the store this week, let me order a couple of these for the next few days?”
So my officemate uses Hello Fresh. Its a weekly subscription. He says you can cancel the upcoming week up to a deadline the week before for no fee, he can’t remember the deadline — Wednesday? I am not sure how Blue Apron works.
Losing weight for me requires tracking food/drink intake. I’m using myfitnesspal and love it.
I was using MyFitnessPal in January but then got lazy. I need to start again!
I live for Target sunglasses and they always survive the longest IMO.
