Here’s how I did in March…
Continue going to bed at 11:00. I totally failed here, which is disappointing after doing so well with this in February (as part of One Little Word). I’ve fallen back to 11:30-12:00 at the moment, despite the fact that I know full well that an extra 30-60 minutes of sleep makes a difference.
Address a couple health-related items. Done! I saw a podiatrist two weeks ago and a dermatologist last week. I’m proud of myself for knocking these two out since they’ve been lingering in the back of my mind for months.
Finish this round of Couch to 5K. Done!
Tackle 5 items from my house updates list. Done — and a huge success!
And here’s what I’m tackling in April…
Do the Mighty Lucky monthly challenge. My ambitions were a bit bigger than my time (yet again) when I signed up for the Mighty Lucky quilting club back in December. I started the January challenge but never finished, and never even began the February and March projects. I’m going to let those go, but resolve to participate this month!
Change our evening routine. I’ve mentioned a couple times that my commute home has making me crazy lately. It might be possible to improve the commute if I leave work 30-45 minutes earlier — at 4:30 instead of 5-5:15. There could be other benefits as well, like eating dinner earlier and making it easier to get the girls to bed on time.
The big downside is that I’ll have to telework a few hours on my flex Fridays — something I have worked hard to avoid in the past. I really look forward to having that entire day to myself every other week. But if giving up a few hours that day means the evening rush is a little less stressful every other day…well, I have to at least give it a try.
Check 5 more items off the house updates list. I’m on a roll and have momentum on my side!
Incorporate a non-cardio item into my exercise routine. Running 3 times a week is pretty manageable for me at the moment, but I’d like to add something else into the mix 1-2 times per week — for variety more than anything else. Yoga? 30 Day Shred (or similar)? Any ideas?

Sarah, what time do you get up in the morning? I also try to have lights out by 11, but it’s hard to motivate myself sometimes. My early to bed / early to rise husband helps.

I get up between 6:30-7 most days…which means my alarm goes off at 6:30 and I usually snooze once or twice. 😉
Jose is more of a night owl than me, and less of a morning person.

Oh, as for exercise, perhaps a straight weights routine? i did a lot of weights for crew in college and found it relatively painless and also saw a lot of results since I’d never lifted before.

Perhaps but I’m intimidated by where to start. Any suggestions?
