I think three fairly substantial goals will be more than sufficient for this month:
Continue Couch to 5K. I got back on track in January and that felt great, so I want to make sure to continue it in February. This week I’m tackling Week 5 which is a doozy, so I anticipate repeating it at least once. But as long as I’m getting in three runs each week and doing my best, I’ll be happy.
“Evaluate” each room in our house. Despite all my daydreams of moving to a bigger house or a more scenic neighborhood, in reality it would be a huge hassle (not to mention a huge cost) for something that we don’t actually NEED to do. Our current house is perfectly good enough for a family of 4 — heck, when we bought it, we bought it fully expecting to have a couple kids living in it with us someday. (Someday is now. Whoa.) In any case, this month I want to take the time to go through each room one-by-one, spent some time just sitting in it and looking around, and think about what could be done to make the space work better for us. What’s working in each room? What’s not working? Could function be improved by adding or removing specific pieces of furniture? Where does clutter gather and how can I address that?
Finish my current work-in-progress baby quilt. I’m ready to get started on my “year of making for me,” but before I do, I want to finish the gift that I currently have in work. All the fabric is cut and I’ve just barely started on the piecing — but the overall design is simple enough that piecing shouldn’t take too awfully long. I’m going to give my best effort at getting the entire quilt finished and in the mail by the end of the month.
