School field trip to see Goodnight Moon last week
—
Emma: “I feel sick. I need band-aids all over my body.”
—
Emma likes to peel her own orange (she loves Cuties) once I get it started for her. After peeling one, she held it to her nose and took a big sniff.
Me: “What does it smell like?”
Emma: “It smells like lemon!”
(This scene repeated itself the next day, except that time she said it smelled like banana.)
—
Me: “Oh man, there’s a hole in these pants.”
Emma: “We can fix it with a package!”
—
Emma: “iPad, iPad, where are you? Oh there you are! I was looking for you, iPad.”
—
Me: “Look, there are 3 pink blocks, 3 white blocks, 3 yellow blocks, 3 purple blocks, 3 green blocks and FOUR blue blocks.”
Emma: “Ohhh that’s a lot of counting Mommy.”
—
As they left the daycare one day, Jose got a squirt of hand sanitizer. Without Emma realizing what was coming, he swiped it onto her hands.
Emma (frowning): “Oh, Daddy! What did you get me with!?”
—
Emma: “Oh, all that noise made Charlotte fall asleep!”
—
We’re at Target and have just chosen a new bike helmet. We put it in the cart and then…
Emma: “Let’s see, what else can I buy?”
(That really IS the question whenever you’re at Target, isn’t it?)
—
We’re at the mall, which is already decked out for Christmas even though it’s only been 1 week since Halloween.
Emma: “Look! A Halloween Christmas tree! It has a lot of ingredients on it!”
