Thinking // About going all-in and turning our dining room (aka my sewing room) into a hobby room of sorts. My first idea was to see if I could make room for my sewing stuff, Jose’s telescopes, and maybe a bookshelf…but Jose didn’t think it would be useful to him unless he has a small desk. And I’m not really sure there’s room for that. Nonetheless, I’m going to think on it some more. I can’t remember the last time we used it as a dining room, and I feel like maybe this could be a good solution for this phase of life.
Enjoying // Cute baby smiles and some “talking.” Babies are so fun when they start to react to you! But on the negative side, Charlotte’s had her fussiest week of life. It’s still nothing major, but it makes me sad when I can’t calm her down right away! But on the positive side again, she is doing great at night and has been regularly giving us a 6-hour stretch of sleep (and sometimes 7) for the last week and a half. But on the negative side, she’ll be getting her 2-month shots this afternoon and probably won’t be the happiest girl for a bit after that.
Wondering // If I’m crazy for the following thoughts. See, back at the beginning of October, a pink ribbon appeared on one of the trees in our front yard, stapled to the trunk. Ribbons were on trees all down the street, and I assume it was for breast cancer awareness month. It really bugged me that someone put a ribbon on my tree without asking. I’m all in favor of breast cancer awareness and research and if someone knocked on my door and said “hey can I put a pink ribbon on your tree,” I’d say yes. But I feel like if you’re going to put something in someone else’s yard, no matter what it is, you need to ask permission first!
Watching // Movies while I feed Charlotte and pump. I was sick of messing around on my phone for all that time, so in the last week I’ve watched Insurgent, Pitch Perfect, Pitch Perfect 2 (no shame) and the new Cinderella. I rented them from Amazon which isn’t cheap but is easy, and easy is good. (But what’s up with some movies being available to rent, and some only for purchase?) Still on my list are Silver Linings Playbook, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Inside Out and Tomorrowland. Any other suggestions? If it came out within the last 3 years, there’s a pretty good chance I never saw it.
The formal dining room (and living room) is a dead idea. Who has the need for two separate dinner tables?
Where can you rent Inside Out? I don’t want to pay $20 to buy but I was also thinking of binge watching.
Totally agree on the formal living room, partially agree on the formal dining room. If we had a larger family (more than 4) or regularly had people over for dinner, we’d be in a bit of trouble because our breakfast area isn’t really big enough to accommodate a larger table. But in general, yeah, formal dining rooms aren’t really used much it seems.
You can rent it via Amazon! Their rentals are $4-6 which is still overpriced if you ask me, but at least it’s easy.
Yeah, and you do have a larger formal dining room area. Mine is actually quite small (thus its conversion to a foosball and bird room). I do have large groups of people over periodically for dinner and we just have to spread out in my kitchen space because even if I had a table in the dining room (which I did used to when I first moved in), we wouldn’t fit.
That pic of Charlotte is adorbs!
I have ‘Unbroken’ on my to watch list, as soon as I’m done finishing reading it, but it’s probably sad as hell.
