September goals coming soon — and trust me, they will NOT be big/significant/aggressive at ALL. In the meantime, I’m posting my August update a few days early since I’m essentially done with all of them!
Get ready for baby! Man, I have been SO lazy about prep this time around. Second kid — already getting the short end of the stick! But I did get the basic necessities accomplished. 1) The car seat bases are in both cars. 2) The pack ‘n play is in our bedroom ready to be popped together for the first time in over a year. 3) My hospital bag is packed, except for the items I’ll need to grab as we’re leaving (like my glasses, my phone, etc). 4) My mom washed all of Emma’s old newborn clothes so baby 2 has something to wear. (Thanks Mom!) And 5) I got out our stash of bottles (well, the smaller ones anyway) and am in the process of sterilizing them so I can put them in a cabinet ready for use. Whew!
Get ready to be off work for 3 months. I procrastinated something fierce on this, so good thing I didn’t go into labor too early. Last Friday when things were slow, I cleaned up my desk a bit and dropped a bunch of reference and “helpful resources” files into a shared folder for my coworkers. I haven’t really cleaned out my email inbox, but c’est la vie.
Have some family fun. I think we were pretty successful with this one. We had several kid birthday parties (including Emma’s), a couple trips to the pool, at least one stop for frozen yogurt, a playdate, and some downtime at home.
Crafty stuff. I got August’s One Little Word prompt done super early, and the September pattern of the month is done and scheduled for next Tuesday. I even managed to order fabric for a baby quilt for my niece Elizabeth (although definitely no promises on when it will be finished). Yay!
