Wishing // My siblings Katie and Brian a very happy birthday today!
Admiring // The mini quilt I made for the Alison Glass swap, which I finished yesterday and will show here as soon as I can take a nice photo in daylight. I am really, really happy with the result — so happy that I even went all out and hand stitched the binding, so as not to “mess it up” with my sometimes subpar machine binding skills. (However, it’s definitely easier to talk myself into hand stitching binding on a mini. A larger quilt is another story.)
Enjoying // The mini quilt (above) plus goodies that I received from Taren as part of the same swap! The shipping window started last week and runs through the end of this week, so she was clearly a little more on top of things that I was. The arrows look great in rainbow colors, and my favorite bit of all might be the rainbow stripe she added to the binding. So pretty! Now to find a good place to display it…
Feeling // Relieved that we have finally purchased plane tickets for a kid-free vacation this summer. My ability to plan a trip with any sort of actual foresight seems to have disappeared over the last several years, which leaves us buying plane tickets mere weeks before we plan to depart — NOT ideal, but for now, it is what it is. Next up: finding a hotel. Or maybe we’ll try Airbnb for the first time?
Reading // Station Eleven, my choice for book club this month. I’m hosting this week so I’ve got to finish it asap! (It’s good so far!)
Fearing // The onslaught of mosquitos that will inevitably come after the massive amounts of rain we’ve had lately.
