Size of the Baby: Somewhere around 3 pounds and 16 inches long.
Weight gain/loss: I haven’t been on a scale since Monday, but I’m guessing in the 20-21 pound range. At my last checkup, a bit more than 2 weeks from the previous one, I hadn’t gained anything at all. That prompted the first comment from my doctor, who said I should gain ~1 pound per week from here on out.
Maternity clothes: Nothing to say here.
Sleep: Other than the continued waking-up-because-my-arm-has-fallen-asleep thing, not much to report.
Movement: Off and on all day long, and sometimes in less than comfortable ways! I’m starting to wonder if she might be breech (she was at my 21 week ultrasound, although there’s been plenty of time to move since then) just because of the amount of pummeling I feel down below my belly.
Food cravings: Nothing specific this week, and honestly I think the time has come when baby is significantly crowding my stomach. I can go from feeling hungry to feeling stuffed after about 5 bites of food sometimes.
Best moment this week? Having my mom in town, which means Jose and I are enjoying some vacation time! (More about that next week.)
What I miss: I’m getting kind of tired of maternity clothes, and am missing being able to wear the other 90% of my wardrobe.
What I’m looking forward to: Getting Emma signed up for the big sister class at the hospital. She talks about “her baby” all the time — suggesting that the baby can sit next to her in the car at the grocery store, for instance, or at the other seat in a booth at a restaurant. It is totally endearing.
Milestones: Emma’s new furniture did indeed arrive last Friday, so the crib and dresser have officially been relocated to new baby’s room! (And Emma is really enjoying her new twin bed!)
