Enjoying // The long weekend. Jose’s mom arrived on Saturday so we have had both a lot of family fun AND some date night fun. On Saturday night we celebrated our 6th anniversary at Miller Outdoor Theater watching the Houston Grand Opera perform The Magic Flute. We got there about an hour and a half before the show started, and were able to put our chairs down close to the front of the lawn and enjoy a picnic dinner we’d brought along. The forecasted rain held off until Sunday morning, so the weather was great. Overall it was just a really, really nice evening.
Anticipating // Game 4 of the Rockets-Warriors series tonight at the Toyota Center! I bought tickets for Jose for his birthday, so we are going to the game while Emma stays home with grandma. The Rockets lost the first two games by a thread and then got completely blown out in game 3, so they’re down 3-0 in the series. Basically, they’re done…but it’ll be fun to be at the game anyway.
Feeling // Like Emma is either hitting the terrible twos late or heading into the “threenager” years early. She has been more of a handful lately, complete with freak outs and general not listening/not obeying. I’ve found myself saying “you need a time out” at least once or twice a day. I know she is still a pretty well-behaved kind overall…just not quite as easy as she was merely a month or two ago.
