I was a bystander for the previous round of the Blogger’s Quilt Festival last fall, but decided to enter a couple of my quilts this spring! In the “Modern Quilts” category, I’m entering my offset strip quilt that I made for a friend’s baby last August. (You can read my original post about it here.)
I designed this one myself based on a West Elm rug and it’s probably the most modern design of anything I’ve made. Sometimes the simplest designs really can make a big impact, and I like how bold the stripes are.
I used two shades of blue since it was for a baby boy, but I think it would look awesome in black and white — or really any combination you can dream up! (Rainbow? Ombre? Those would work too!) And with such simple piecing, this is truly a quilt that can be made in a day.
I quilted it very sparsely, but I think it would also look great quilted with a large spiral or bullseye pattern. Matchstick quilting would also work well. Thanks for checking it out, and have fun admiring all the other quilts in the Modern category.

I really love this design, and the colors too. Job well done.
