The day my week count goes up is actually Friday, but I’ve posted the first two of these updates on Mondays. Today I’m technically 23 weeks and 3 days, but, details. I’ll probably start posting them on Fridays though, just for my own reference.
In the tradition of my weekly posts last time around, I took a work bathroom selfie last Thursday. Interestingly, that little cubicle area behind me is the “lactation area.” In the bathroom. So you can listen to toilets flushing while you pump at work. Must be fun, although I wouldn’t know because I never pumped at work last time. ANYWAY…
Size of the Baby: The size of a large mango. Oh, the fruit comparisons! The internet also says about a foot long and about a pound, which seems like a seriously huge mango, larger than any mango I have ever seen.
Weight gain/loss: I held steady this week at ~17 pounds gained.
Maternity clothes: Bleh. I’m not really in love with any of my clothes, and things I wore and liked three years ago don’t really appeal to me now. But I also don’t really want to waste money on much more since I know have enough to get me through the summer. I’ve thought about trying to make myself a couple things…but my list of quilting projects is already long enough that I’m hesitant to take on any more sewing.
Sleep: I’m so, so tired — but that has a lot more to do with a lot of work stuff happening this week than it does with pregnancy.
Movement: This baby likes to move. She’s constantly thumping something, or doing something that to me feels like tickling from the inside.
Food cravings: Last week there was a night where I really, really wanted some ice cream. We had some old but not yet expired Blue Bell ice cream sandwiches, but Jose wouldn’t let me eat one, because, listeria. FINE. Fortunately I found another non-Blue Bell ice cream bar buried in the freezer. Win!
Best moment this week? There wasn’t one particular moment this week, but several small ones! Last week I went out to dinner last Wednesday with several of the other moms from Emma’s room at daycare and had fun. I randomly ran into Cari and Lauren at Starbucks on Thursday as I was killing a half hour between work and swimming, and it was fun to catch up with them. I had some good moments in the midst of a very busy week at work.
What I miss: Nothing, really.
What I’m looking forward to: A visit from Jose’s mom in a few weeks, which means plenty of date nights for us!
Milestones: Nothing comes to mind this week.
