We flew to Charlotte last Friday to spend a long weekend with my parents and siblings, and just came home yesterday. Katie and Joel were visiting from Seattle too, so once again we were all together! (In recent years we have tried to coordinate trips to Charlotte with them so everyone gets to see everyone, which is pretty great.)
My mom dyed eggs with Dan, Lucas and Emma on Saturday. It was Emma’s first time doing it — and honestly, she wasn’t very interested. She humored us for a few minutes, then wandered off to see what else was going on in the house.
On Sunday afternoon we had an egg hunt for Emma and Lucas, and a second (significantly harder) egg hunt for Dan. They all had a great time!
I “imported” two dozen cascarones from Houston which were a bit hit with the kids of all ages. (And by that I mean the adults too, of course!) Dan liked them so much that I may have to mail him a couple cartons next year.
We spent the rest of our four days in Charlotte hanging out with the family, sleeping in, going on walks, enjoying the spring weather, and just having fun. As usual, it was a great trip!
