Wishing // A very happy birthday to my brother David today!
Adding // A couple new options to our weeknight dinner repertoire. On Monday night we had this One Pot Pizza Pasta Bake that was pretty good. (It’s not significantly different than any other pasta with sausage, but one pot part was awesome.) We’ll be making it again.
On Tuesday night we had breakfast-for-dinner — scrambled eggs, hash browns and biscuits. Umm, how have I not thrown breakfast-for-dinner into the mix until now? Definitely a keeper.
Finding // Energy to actually do something in the evening other than park myself on the couch, now that an extremely busy couple weeks at work have come to an end. On Wednesday night I made a batch of chocolate chip cookies for a work lunch the next day AND quilted half of my rising balloons quilt. That’s more than I’d gotten done in a single evening in weeks.
Admiring // Emma’s meticulous separating and stacking of the different colors in her little flower play set. The toddler tendency to enjoy putting things in order while simultaneously destroying the tidiness of whatever room she’s in is…actually kind of amusing to watch.
Learning // How to join two pieces of leftover batting to make a new piece large enough to use in a quilt. (Spoiler alert: it’s very easy and takes all of 5 minutes.) Hooray for not letting those large-but-not-large-enough pieces go to waste!
Anticipating // A fun weekend. Jose’s brother and a few of their cousins are coming up for a low key bachelor party for Alex, who’s getting married in two weeks. Emma and I won’t be joining them for most of the fun they have planned, but we’ll still get to see them.

Mmm, this made me crave breakfast for dinner, too! With biscuits!

I’m in the middle of a couple of busy weeks myself, so I am all empathy.
