I have taken various versions of the Myers-Briggs personality type test several times over the years. The first time was my freshman year of college — which may have been the only time I took the “official” MB test (as opposed to an online variation) — and I was an ISTJ. Over the years, I’ve gotten different results; one time when I must have been feeling particularly outgoing I even got an extraverted result.
Last week (inspired by Kathleen) I took this version and got ISFJ. I think this is a surprisingly accurate reflection of me these days, and it’s interesting to see how my personality has shifted since the initial test I took nearly 20 years ago.
Part of the description says that for ISFJs, “many of their qualities defy the definition of their individual traits. Though possessing the Feeling (F) trait, ISFJs have excellent analytical abilities; though Introverted (I), they have well-developed people skills and robust social relationships; and though they are a Judging (J) type, ISFJs are often receptive to change and new ideas.”
And there was also this: “ISFJ personalities (especially Turbulent ones) are often meticulous to the point of perfectionism, and though they procrastinate, they can always be relied on to get the job done on time.”
However, it also talks a lot about ISFJ’s being altruistic…and while I’d love to claim that quality, I don’t think it’s really true for me. I have a tendency to be either lazy or outright selfish with my time and energy, neither of which leads to being a particularly giving person.
So, ISFJ. Mostly me!
(More ISFJ description.)

I’m an ISFJ too – but my introversion and judging characteristics are much higher than yours. I thought it was a great representation of me, but I did feel guilty that I’m not as altruistic as I should be.

I was an INTJ for years before my TBI. I just took the test and got INFJ. I guess my brain really is broken!
