February goals coming next week. In the meantime, here’s how I did in January…
Finish the 2014 family album. I made progress, but it’s still not done. Sigh — I am way too much of a perfectionist about these things.
Check 3 things off the “little jobs” list. I recycled a big bag of old light bulbs, replaced the front porch light, and finally got a new light fixture for the ceiling fan in our bedroom. (The light kit still needs to be installed though.)
Clothes/shoes/jewelry purge. Still a work in progress, but I got a really good start and should be able to finish in February. I went through my jewelry box and got rid of about 50% of its contents — old stuff that was broken or that I haven’t worn in years. That part was pretty easy. (Earrings were particularly easy. Jose got me diamond studs a few years ago that I wear nearly every day, so I only kept ~10 pairs besides those.)
Next I tackled my dresser drawers. There are 9 drawers in my dresser, but Jose uses 2 of them. (He has his own smaller dresser too.) Still, that left 7 for me to address. Getting rid of excess socks and underwear was again pretty easy, but the other drawers — casual t-shirts, foldable work shirts, sweaters — were tougher.
Make things! I was feeling like I hadn’t accomplished much…until I started making a list for this entry and realized January was actually a pretty darn good month! I finished and mailed off my items for the Schnitzel & Boo mini quilt swap and the Instagram tote swap. I have fabric and a plan for both of the baby quilts that are next on my list, and I started cutting pieces for one of them yesterday. I have fabric for the Block of the Month project I’ll be starting in February. And I even did a (very) little bit of work on my La Passacaglia quilt!
(Oh, and my year-long goal to read at little for fun every day? I read 23/31 days — 4.5 books in all — which is definitely progress!)
