100 Books to Read in a Lifetime | Amazon
I’ve read several of these, and have had several more on my “to read” list for a while. And I like how this list isn’t too snooty — Good Night Moon is on it! Ha!
“Sponsored” by my husband: Why it’s a problem that writers never talk about where their money comes from | Ann Bauer, Salon.com
In my opinion, we do an enormous “let them eat cake” disservice to our community when we obfuscate the circumstances that help us write, publish and in some way succeed.
I really liked this article, and within my bubble you can substitute “writers” with “bloggers” or “quilters” or several other things and the point still remains. Related: the whole “do what you love” mantra, which is a great motivational sound byte (I’ve used it myself) but is rather unrealistic for most people as job or career advice.
On Adapting | big city quiet
The issue I’ve been struggling with, and maybe you have as well, is the belief that all of my problems will be solved if only I can find some kind of balance. But the truth is that I will never find balance. Working more will mean less time with son, and more time with my son means less money coming in. I will feel guilt no matter which way the wind blows. The grass is greener on both sides, mama.
I loved this whole post.

I’ve posted this before, but it’s too good not to revisit from time to time. My quilts have improved so much in only 3 years. I can’t wait to see what I’ll be able to make in another 3, or 5, or 10!
