I know I just posted one of these, like, a month ago but COME ON. Two and a half is hilarious.
Emma notices that the car that was next to us when we went into Walgreens is now gone.
Emma: “Ohhh, dat car not here anymore.”
Me: “Yeah, they left. Where do you think they went?”
Emma: “They went to Joann’s.”
(So…maybe we go to the fabric store a little. Or a lot.)

Me: “Where does Momo live?”
Emma: “Corpus Christi!”
Me: “And where does Gima live?”
Emma: “Charlotte!”
Me: “And where do we live?”
Emma: “The ice cream store!”
Me (laughing): “No silly, where do we live?”
Emma: “HEB!”
—
Emma: “What’s dat?”
Me: “It’s a quilt I made. I made it for a baby.”
Emma: “Oh a baby. I like babies.”
Me: “Oh yeah?”
Emma: “I like baby Skylar. She a nice baby.”

It’s Sunday morning and one of Jose’s political shows is on. It’s some sort of overwrought special edition called “Terror Flashpoint.”
Me: “Ugh I don’t want to watch ‘terror flashpoint.’ Why is the news always trying to scare us?”
TV Commentator: “…and are there sleeper cells at home?”
Jose (talking at TV): “Yeah, there are serial killers in the US too. What’s your point?”
Emma: “I not serial killers in US, I Emma!”

We’re stopped at a traffic light while out and about.
Emma: “I want to go to number 8 store!”
Me: “What?”
Emma: “I want to go to number 8 store!”
Jose: “What’s the number 8 store?”
Emma: “Right dere!”
It took us several moments to realize she was seeing the sign for a Motel 8 farther up the feeder. The number 8 store. Ha!

So cute! Kinda reminds of when Cassie pointed out the Starbucks logo, wondering why we didn’t stop!
