We took a whirlwind trip to Corpus Christi over the weekend, and apparently I only took two pictures:
The highlight of the drive down was stopping at “Old McDonald’s” for lunch, where Emma got this useless plush heart toy in her happy meal. (Oh, and the “boy toy” was a ninja turtle. Definitely going to remember to ask for the boy toy in the future.)
Emma also enjoyed hanging out with her second cousin Emily. Emily had Frozen on her iPod, so there you go, end of story.
Jose’s brother Alex is getting married in March, and yesterday was the bridal shower for his fiance Krystle. We drove down on Saturday and were there for just over 24 hours before turning around and coming back home.
We’ve done this before — driven down one day and back the next — and every time, we say “let’s not do that again.” But as the week rolls on and we get tired, we never want to leave work on Friday and immediately jump in the car. So again we say to ourselves “let’s just go tomorrow morning. It’ll be ok.”
The good news is that this time, finally, it really WAS ok. The weather was good and it was nice to do the drive in daylight for once. Emma is a good traveler. And for the first time in several trips, no one was sick either before, during, or after. What a difference it makes when everyone is well!
